Mickle Hill

Retirement Village

Why retiring to Yorkshire is a good move

Pickering – the perfect setting for your home

Mickle Hill retirement village is located in the beautiful setting of Pickering, an ancient market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, on the border of the North York Moors National Park.

It’s a brilliant town and community that we are proud to be a part of. Our Mickle Hill logo highlights the story behind Pickering and it’s history. Visit Pickering Parish Church, a real focal point with it’s extensive medieval wall paintings; Beck Isle Museum, where the Victorian period is brought to life, including a printers workshop, grocers, gentlemen’s outfitters, a pub and a chemist. Explore the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, a stunning steam train journey through the historic route through beauty spots such as Whitby, Goathland and Levisham.

Pickering itself is a welcoming town, packed with over 100 independent shops, quaint cafes and traditional tea rooms and pubs.

More than you expect from a retirement village

At Mickle Hill we believe in living independently. Our retirement properties are developed with helpful touches such as non-slip surfaces in the designer en-suite wet-room, high quality fitted kitchens with an integrated eye level oven and 24 hour support through an emergency alarm system.

Our central Pavilion in our retirement village provides facilities such as the Mickle Hill cinema, cafe bistro, bar and library. It provides the perfect environment for participating in your favourite activities and hobbies, socialising with friends and attending regular events like the weekly pub quiz and various committee groups. We think Mickle Hill is one of the best retirement villages in the UK.
